Transmission Temp too high warning on my Spyder
A warning has flashed on me three times so far. Each one starts out with "Transmission temp too high". The first time I was on the road all of five minutes in traffic, second and third time I was cruising on the freeway in 7th gear. Assuming it's a sensor.
Anyone else run into this issue??
I will take it to the dealer in a few weeks. If nothing else I need it documented before the factory warranty runs out in 8K.

Keep us posted. Are you at 42k miles or just a few months away from the 4 year mark?

You want to get the car taken care of ASAP so you have as much warranty on the fix as you can have.
So you should not delay taking the car in for this. If something is found amiss -- and it might be -- any work done is only warrantied for as long as the warranty under which the work was lasts. IOWs, the warranty on the work runs out the same time the warranty on the car runs out, in 8K miles.

Afshin,
I'm at 32k. I thought the warranty runs out at 40k?
Mac,
Ok. I was under the impression that if I got it documented before the warranty ran out, that it would still be covered?

4 years/50K miles. You trust the dealer? You need a mechanic willing to look for stuff...a good one is on top of what type of problems are occurring specific to your model. Just getting a 40k/4 year service could miss something.

Trust the dealer? Hell no! But I'm under the impression that service items (especially warranty) get logged into a national database. Therefore, I would have some recourse with PCNA if the problem doesn't get fixed (since it's intermittent).
