Everyone - Thank you all for your input. While I like almost all colors, Peridot Green just pops, and seems fitting of a limited edition Porsche model. White with black looks mighty fine to me too, and is available. You input is most definitely helpful.

Hi All - I am going to purchase a pre-owned Cayman R. I am torn color-wise between Black with silver wheels and Peridot Green with black wheels. I think it will be one or the other. There are some differences in options between the two cars, and both sets of options work for me. I am more on the fence with color. Highly personal, I know. This will compliment my GR 1996 993 C2. Just thought I would solicit some views. The car is for road use, no tracking expected as of now. Thank you.

GREEN...black is very frustrating if your are **** about a clean exterior. Almost wrecked my black Z06 when I swerved to avoid a puddle after a fresh detail. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and black cars, are a silent killer.

I've agreed on price, but having difficulty finding reasonable financing as apparently I am a "ghost". With interest rates so low (quoted 2.3% to 2.99%), I thought why liquidate any financial assets and pay capital gains tax, so I applied for a loan. Now, I've been fortunate, have ongoing income, and this would be the only installment debt I have, but it is working against me from the bank's perspective. They see little on my credit history, hence, I'm a "ghost", to reference the term used. Lesson learned: Better to be in debt, then you get more financing. Go figure. I already have a loved 993, which is a keeper. I love the green CR, too, but it is not a "must have" given the 993.

Love the Peridot. You can see the contours of the car. Not so with black.
And Green and Guards Red will be great at Christmas.

Moving forward with the Peridot Green purchase. Not having coin was never the issue; taking advantage of low car loan rates (< 3.00%), compliments of the Fed, to keep sound financial assets and defer realized capital gains was the issue for me. This is an indulgent purchase for me, given that I have a 993. When I walked away, concessions were made. Low cost loan is now approved and now the car goes to PPI. The deal is not yet finished, but looks promising.

I've owned two black cars -- never again. Hot in the summer and show every spec of dirt. I purchased a Peridot R and love the color...as do most people I come across as well. It is a unique color, and really shows off the line of the Cayman, and the black accents and wheels look fantastic in person.
Best,
DJM
