Good friend of mine wanted to order a Spyder in Speed Yellow, which is a readily available color in the Porsche line. Dealer questioned Porsche NA who said no paint to sample on Spyders. My friend even wrote to the Porsche Exclusive division at the factory in Germany and their reply was the same, no paint to sample on Spyders.

Viper Green or Riviera Blue would be OK.
Anyone else notice that the PtS options are missing, have been for a while, from the "build" page at Porsche.com

Noticed the removal of PTS back in December. It seems when the backlog gets to a certain point they remove PTS until they are able to catch up. Certainly it says alot about demand for PTS. I've heard PTS won't be offered on any car until June/July production period which means it should show up on the configurator in April/May timeframe.

As I mentioned on the other forum, I would be very surprised to see it come up again for the 987/997 on any 2012 run-out models, with production of the 981/991 realistically less than 6 months away. Porsche doesn't want or need the production hassle, and dealers don't want funky and expensive colors showing up on outgoing models. The object is to make the 2012 run-out models less expensive (Black Edition).

Seems to me that Porsche consistently offers PTS for the first part of the model year, since they allow up to 6 months for the process.

Inquired about PTS on a May build 2012, and it is not available. Dealer is saying they doubt PTS will be available later in the year on this particular model.
