I am meant to be writing something up for Total 911 some time around the 964, GT3 and Spyder, but whether I'll ever get around to it is a story in itself. :-)
There is certainly a fair bit of GT3 in the Spyder, though. Especially as mine is kitted out like my GT3 was with lots of alcantara. It doesn't ultimately have the depth, the 'importance' perhaps of the GT3 - it's just a toy. But it is a fantastic car to drive nevertheless. Extraordinarilly direct and responsive. Great noise (PSE) too. Just lacks the GT3's top end grab-hold-of-a-live-wire scream. On the road, the Spyder is right in its performance and handling envelope, which perhaps scores it a point or two over the GT3. And a much more comfortable ride! :-)
