Default Window Whistle

Hello.
Just picked up a black / red 2011 Spyder with PDK & sofas. It has a whistle / wind noise on the passenger window at the pt where the top, windshield header, and window meet. I haven't taken it apart to look yet, but did some searches for the issue and have come up empty. Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix? No need to have extra noise while I'm driving.

Thanks

Congrats on the Spyder!

Can you circle or point to the area where you’re getting the whistle? The tops don’t seal once you get past the A Pillar so wind noise is to be expected but if you’re hearing it from the A Pillar area it sounds like something abnormal may be causing it.

Here's the area where the whistle is coming from. Quiet on the driver's side area. Sorry about the potato pic, but I'm busy doing the 40K mi maint. Polish and detail will come later.

Did you confirm that the top is seated correctly? There are some small tabs on each end of the top that coincide with indents on the window frame and on occasion they don’t seat correctly even though you can latch the top. I’ll post up a picture of my top tomorrow showing the same area for comparison purposes.

Here’s a picture of mine, looks similar to yours and nothing really stands out.

that top looks pretty worn… yet is should not produce a whistle. Is it a constant factor each time you mount the top?

Since it's winter, the top hasn't been off / on but once. The whistle appears around 40+ mph.

The spyder originally spent time in FL and I think the sun was hard on it. You'll be glad to know I just dropped it off at an upholsterer to address the disappearing seams and a cracked rear window. I've been busy doing 40K mi maint but when I get the top back I'll investigate the whistle and get back to everyone.
