Curious to know if there is a large difference in maintenance cost of the Spyder/Cayman R vs the base/S models since the cars are basically the same save for some weight saving features, lower suspension and some other things. It's my understanding the engines are exactly the same except for a little bit of maybe engine tuning to produce the 10 more hp on the Spyder/Cayman R but it's not like how the 718 Spyder/GT4 have suspension bits from the GT3 and a bespoke 4L engine.
Specifically, I'm curious to know the cost of various service items compared between the models:
1. oil change
2. filter
3. spark plugs
4. brake discs and pads
5. coolant flush
6. water pump
7. alignment

The 987 Boxster/Cayman models and the 997 (911 Carrera/S) have the same maintenance requirements, so it would seem they should have the same costs:

So the only difference would be slightly higher parts costs for things like the brake pads… but most of those would be pretty similar between the Boxster and Spyder.

My take is that the Spyder has a LOWER maintenance cost than the S or Base primarily because you eliminate the mechanical top and the mechanical rear wing. The Cayman R will be close with just the mechanical wing being the difference.

Literally zero difference in maintenance cost between a CR/Spyder and an S. Where you'd see a price difference would be very small between a base an an S for things like brakes.

No extra maintenance costs, only extra smiles!
If anything, lower costs due to no motorized rear spoiler and static suspension (vs PASM on some S/base models).
