Add me to the list of Spyder owners who left the fold only to return. https://rennlist.com/forums/987-foru...he-s-gone.html
While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my Targa, I’ve missed the more raw, analog, sports car experience of the 987.2 Spyder. Long story short: I reached out to the guy I sold the car to back in 2018 and it’s parked in my garage today. No worse for wear and only an additional 2500 miles on the clock. Did I overpay? Yes. But since it is my previous car, it’s 1 of 1 and I’m glad to have it back.
No immediate plans to sell the Targa, although I wouldn’t say “never”. If I had a dollar for every time I said “never” to selling a car I’d have enough to buy a GT3.
Actually in todays market I’d have enough to buy 1/2 a GT3.

@DaveGee Love the seat inserts on the spyder. Didn’t even think of doing that, now I can’t unsee it.
Thanks, I really like them too. I bought the material from a company in the UK. It’s wool and supposedly original Porsche spec. Cost was about $400.
(I originally wanted to buy the more modern pepita material, like what is used in the 911/50, but at the time it was unobtanium.)
Then I took the seats and the material to a local “convertible top and upholstery” shop. Cost was about $800. So all in ~$1200.
(The shop saved me all the OEM leather which could be sewed back in if I ever wanted to return to OEM. Although not likely).
Its been about 5 years since I had the work done and the material is wearing very well. The seat cushion on the drive seat has loosened a little, presumably just stretching. I’ll eventually take it back to the shop that did the work to have it tightened up.
