I drove 25 years with a stick and still once in a while enjoy to do so. When I grew up in Germany there were hardly any Automatic cars and those that existed were horrible to drive. Fast forward to modern ZF converters as in all new BMWs and the Porsche PDK. No way I go back to a stick on a DD.
