Default Silly Spyder 987.2 Question

What kind of cockpit storage solutions do you use since space is limited in the center console and glove compartment?

Thanks,

G.

As you know there isn't any storage room to work with in front of the seats or in the door panels. But I can store a spare jacket or hat behind the passenger seat. I can reach it from the driver seat if no one is seated in the passenger seat or if they pull their seat forward. My wife will put her purse or a small bag of groceries on the passenger floor mat between her feet. Obviously using the frunck and trunk are inconvenient for anything you need immediate access to. Too me the only real advantage to a 911 from a practicality standpoint is the rear seating area which handily holds lots of stuff.

Anyone have a cup holder solution? Really just want somewhere to hold a bottle of water without having to wedge it behind the seat.

Sans cupholders for me. I find it amusing, except when trying to bring an actual coffee to cars and coffee.

I have one of these in my Spyder: https://www.ultimatecupholders.com/

It is great. Relatively snug, keeps cup low and secure. Doesn't really get in the way. Best solution I could find.

It did not, I assume for weight savings to offset the leather dash 🙄

Good luck with the search. As much hate that the factory cup holders get, I'm impressed they actually work and are hidden when not in use.

They are definitely impressive engineering, but I can't bring myself to use them. Seem too fragile, def do not hold a normal water bottle very well and no way on coffee!

They hold the regular 16.9 oz bottles just fine…even on my canyon runs. Wouldn’t trust it with a tall cup of coffee or an open tall can of soda or energy drink tho.

Only problem I have with them is when my phone is attached to my Rennline magnetic phone holder, it hits the bottom of the bottle/can.

I just ordered a single Ultimate Cup holder to see if it’ll hold my 32oz insulated water bottle I take everywhere.

Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073YD7GQG

I did have to use very indiscrete zip ties (red of course) in the headrest screen to secure the clips on top. The bottom hooks into the area just behind the seat rail.

There are also less expensive ones too.

Best,

G.
