987 Boxster Spyder production summary

There is another thread in this forum whereby the OP posted documentation by color of how every single one in N.A. was specced. I kinda broke down the numbers myself for aqua blues as I was curious.

Did I miss the stat on the take rate for PCCB? Mine has them but they were added after the point of sale.

I just had copies of all the build sheets so I broke them out by color and figured people would be interested in the manual vs PDK take rate
plus, since I didn't order a radio and some didn't order A/C I thought those stats would be interesting
I was going to order no radio and no A/C but got talked out of it considering the Texas heat (it was 102 degrees here today, down from 104 yesterday)
someone else will have to break out all of the options

No worries at all. You have certainly gone above and beyond the call of duty on this. All of us 987 Spyder owners certainly appreciate your hard work!

While at times I wish I had Carbon buckets after a run in the RS and then just sliding into the leather sport seats in the Spyder I always subconsciously go “ahhhh...nice”. It’s a pleasure and they are very comfy.
With a little over only 800 examples in US I’m just perplexed that values haven’t risen on this gem considering what a wonderful car they are and it’s real rarity.

I was admiring pictures of Marine blue's one owner mint condition full leather, sport bucket seat, Basalt black, Spyder wheels and PSE equipped Spyder the other and at the outset I would have never in a million years thought that this is probably the ONLY ONE in existence in the entire North America for a vehicle that is less than a decade old !!!!!!!

Waxer I agree, it is surprising that they haven’t gone up yet but there’s been a lot more demand for them lately and finding nice ones is getting far more difficult. Once we tip the scale of supply/demand I think the prices will rise. I’ve also mentioned this before but many of these change hands privately at much higher prices than what we are seeing on Autotrader etc. I’ve had offers for more than I’ve paid for mine, but then what? There’s really nothing better to me for street use.

Marine blue: 100% agree. These little cars will be more in demand in the future and become highly desirable. I think Pete Stout considers the 987 Spyder one of the best cars that Porsche has made and they truly rare.
These cars are wonderful. My wife loves ours and would not let me trade it on a 570S Spyder recently. She named it Charlotte. 🕷
Took it to dinner last night. What an enjoyable car!
Just met a buddy who met me for coffee in his AMG Gull-wing. He comments that he loves the Spyder each time he sees it and loved it with the bikini top. I think it looks fantastic with the top on also.

Would there be any way to find out the the number of 2011 Spyder just for the US market? If the number is 500 or less than I can register as a collector in Minnesota. The main reason being you don't have to have a front plate for collector cars.

gandalf,
unlikely
you can check the build sheets in the FAQ and each one either says PCNA for US or PCL for Canada (I assume Porsche Canada Limited is why the designation is PCL)
I don't think there very many Canadian 987 Boxster Spyders

Yes, you're probably right on Canadian cars. I may contact PCNA as I would have to have a letter from them stating as such. On a side note, thank you for the time you've invested in this for all of us!

Great thread but makes us Euro owners wish for something similar
