Thanks for message...picked up in Fall of 2020 from Chicago Porsche dealership and had it shipped down south. Taillights came smoked by previous owner. Everything else looks to be original and really pleased with it. The build sheet had the option of excluding the Porsche decals on the side doors. I would prefer the decals but oh well. May add them in future. Car drives like new and has plenty of power for what I do. 11,281 miles at purchase with MT. I was in market for a clean Cayman S low miles and came across this Spyder. It took me sometime to find the right one and had to move very quickly when I did find it. The good ones sell go quick. Take care.
Does anyone know why some 987.2 Spyders have the rear emblem as “Bosxter Spyder” AND others have “Spyder”? Was this an option or done during a certain production period. Thoughts?

The standard was “Boxster Spyder”, many owners purchased a new Spyder emblem, removed the Boxster Spyder emblem and located the Spyder emblem in the middle by itself. You could order with model designation delete which removed everything from the back.

"Boxster Spyder" was standard from factory. With a bit of dental floss it comes off. From there it's up to you. One of my friend's '21 Spyder sports "GT4Spyder" and my Carrera T is now a "911 GTL"

I have the feeling that somebody thinks that not having the Boxster lettering makes this car more special. It’s anyhow a reversible operation. Nothing bad in that.
I'm a new owner (I decided against a new owner thread, because I'm an introvert) and my car has 18K on it. I'll probably put 2-3k/year on it (keep the top off and daily-drive it whenever there's a 0% chance of rain April-October in Connecticut) and hope the boys grow up to love cars enough to fight over it when I die. Who knows when the authorities will ban human-operated cars, but I hope it lasts 40 more years.
Edit: I just realized that this is a resuscitated thread. I hope someone out there is organized and conscientious enough to reboot the registry idea, that would be cool, and I am sorry I am not up to the task.
