Default WIRING QUESTION - Please Help

Has anyone here ever installed an Ecliptech Shift Light in a Spec Boxster? It requires a power lead, a tach feed, and a ground. Three wires.

Did you pull the instrument panel and tap into the back, or did you go off the main wiring cluster? Do you remember the color codes on the wires?

Pulled the pod (2 screws) and attached to tach wire which is a violet wire...as I remember from a year ago.

I believe you can also connected to the purple wire in the OBD two port

That's where my tach signal comes from.

The builder says the violet/green wire on the back of the instrument cluster will give me the engine speed signal.

On my '04 GT3 wiring at the obd2 port was easiest:
GT 3 shift light wiring
At obd port
Black/ red pin 1 switched power red black of shift i
Brown pin 4 chassis ground black on shift i
Violet/green pin 9 tach output blue/black on shift i
