Default Summer Heat and running Boxsters

Are you Spec Box guys doing anything special to run the car in the summers?

Do anything special when you come off track?

I have a street/track Boxster S that I'm collecting ideas with.
I have a UDP, I notice that my temp gauge climbs at idle unless I run
the AC (I know backwards... but I think it is related to the lower engine RPM).

I've been traveling since Memorial Day -- So my car has missed the summer
heat so far -- but I plan to make up for lost time the latter half of our summer.
I.e. the next 3 months :-) (it's Texas)

thanks,

Mike

3rd rad (which you probably have already)
external oil cooler and fan pack
LN engineering thermostat
good oil, changed frequently
flush your coolant
clean debris from your rads to maximize cooling capacity

S has third radiator.
I also have a deep sump kit
1/2 qt extra will help some.
Will double check radiators for debris.

I've thought about an external oil cooler. Run one in my pure track cars. It helps tremendously.

Where r u guys picking up your oil cooler tap offs, spin on adapter or off the oil/h2o exchanger?

Where are you mounting the oil cooler? Behind tranny in place of muffler?
As a street car that doesn't work for me. I'll be moving to a different muffler, there maybe room there. I have to keep cats to pass smog too :-(

I've thought about the rear trunk but there's no air flow

Thx,

Mike

Mike, consider gearbox oil temp gauge and cooler. If you have an LSD they get hot
