Headlights falling out

It happened to me at Sebring and a fellow racer at NOLA. We both lost a right headlight followed by the rapid demise of the inner fender.
The cause was the same in both cases, the outer plastic socket for the pivot rod that locks the unit in, broke.
I need to find a way to keep this from happening again.
I was thinking of tie rapping the light in the back. That would mean I would have to access it thur the inner fender.
Anyone have a better way to do this?...
Had a fantastic time at NOLA. Can not wait for a return there.

A strip of tape at the rear of the headlight to the fender and a strip across the marker lights, SOP for boxster and 6 cups. Damn things fall out all the time...

Mine fell out under braking at VIR last weekend. Flew back over the roof. Corner worker brought it back, intact, though a bit scuffed up. I can't seem to get it to latch -- the headlight doesn't seem to seat far enough back for the latch mechanism, though its back far enough relative to the fender. ANy clues on getting the latch to work?

^ JML, sorry didn't get to meet at VIR... next time ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Check the 'ramp' for the headlight, make sure everything is intact, no debris. Compare side to side.
We always tape ours anyway.
