Default Shift lights

My girlfriend has an SPB with AIM MXL2 dash & Smartycam2.
The seat is so low to accommodate her height that when I am in the car, I cannot see the shift lights. Steering wheel blocks it. Sound alone doesn't work for me and trying to watch the dash is a bit too distracting.
We'll be sharing the car this summer.

So I want to add an extra set of shift lights that I can mount on top of the console (or whatever you call it)
My options are:
  • AIM SLM - but this will require a data bridge and patch cable.
  • Cartek shift lights - A lot cheaper and I think easy to install. (probably better than getting ignitions off the 1999 SPB ECU?)
  • Something else?

Suggestions?
.

I put an earlier version of one of these in a ‘04 gt3 and it worked well
