Not moot at all when you consider that right now we all have the exact same gears so there is no advantage/disadvantage at one track or another.

The whole point of a SPEC car.

This is just silly. Every year.

The 2.7 cars have a home in E class and since E class was decimated a few yers ago with the introduction of 911cup I think it would be better to encourage more E builds. Our fields are healthy.

I agree with Hunt- the whole point of a SPEC class is that all the cars are the same.

How is that weight differential going to work when you go through scales- Differences between Gen 1 and Gen 2 are so subtle, so not easy to quickly differentiate between the two, so when a Gen 2 goes through the scales at 2690, they may just say OK, it is fine. How many other classes have different weight cars in them?

I don't see why this keeps coming up. I looked at the changes in GTC rules- looks as if the changes driven by suggestions. If that is the case, who is making this suggestion?

I understand that may be some who want to see this change. However, if you don't want to see it, you should send in an email opposing the change. I did.

Looks like this didn't pass. Only one rule change which appears to be a good thing:

SPB
7. Aftermarket gears of the stock ratios and design (e.g., no straight cut gears) are allowed.
