Blew the high pressure PS line at HPR this weekend running a DE at the connector under the driver's seat. Engine side lines have been replaced but as far as I can tell the forward lines are original to the car (1997). It was 100+ degrees out and of course 5000ft altitude at HPR, those temps are not uncommon at HPR in the summer Mid June-Sept.
Does a power steering cooler help? Or not worth the effort? Seems it would add another failure point so I am weighing the risk benefit. Curious what the group consensus is.
TIA.

A cooler was already installed on my car when I bought it last year. The car was built by a Colorado shop, so take that for what it's worth.
While I have no before/after impressions, I have had 2 leaks at hose fittings, so as you indicate, more potential points of failure. Thankfully both leaks were noticed and fixed with the car in the garage so no loss of track time.
