Here’s mine, Cartek F3, switchable flashing or steady. Drilled a few holes in the bumper cover, routed the wiring up through the trunk, into the wiring harness that runs along the left side up to a switch on the dash.
Some of the Texas SPB gang had theirs mounted a little higher up behind the spoiler. That looked like a nice install also.
fab'd a block out of black delrin from mcmaster-carr that was mounted to rear wing, and at an angle that has the light vertical. higher position of the light allows for better sight.
Scott I must have been reading your mind. I did a similar thing for mine, just finished this morning....I fabbed a bracket out of some aluminum I had around and mounted it to the spoiler. Put a connector down in the well below the spoiler so it's easy to disconnect when removing the spoiler to get the rear bumper off. Made a wiring harness, wrapped nicely in harness tape, up to the dash. Tapped power in the trunk w/ a 10a fuse.
Just getting around to this. Nice installs shown. I was thinking of something similar to what @Nickshu mentioned, with an electrical plug there so that it can be disconnected when removing the spoiler (or bumper as the case may be).
One thought I had: functionally/electrically speaking, could this light just be tapped into the taillight wires? The point would be to turn it on via the existing headlight/taillight switch, rather than with a new and independent switch; and to avoid running a wire all the way to the dashboard since the taillights are nearby.

Don't see why not but you would need a way to tell it to be solid or flashing, assuming you want that functionality. Maybe you could use the taillight as a signal wire for solid and then the rear fog light as a signal light for for flashing.

It's a 996 - hopefully you guys don't kick me out Cartek light recessed into the bumper. Secured with epoxy around the edges and 2 aluminum brackets inside the bumper. Used Deutsche connectors for easy bumper removal.

I've seen other 911's where they drill individual holes for each LED then mount it behind the bumper. Looks good your way too.
Did a couple races in the rain this year. Noticed my rain light is no longer flashing. It's solid in both switch positions despite being wired for static w/ switch up, and flashing w/ switch down. Anyone know if the flash circuit is inside the light itself or inside the switch? Assume I just need a new light or a new switch...
