Hi guys,
I've been DE'ing for 2 years now and love it! But I am definitely headed down the "slippery slope"! I started with a stock Boxster for my first year and liked it so much I decided I would slowly convert it to a SPEC Boxster.
So, last winter I stripped the interior and installed a roll cage, race seats, 6 pt harnesses and other "safety stuff". With the loss of weight the car was soooo much better.
This winter's project is the suspension. I bought the whole Spec Boxster suspension package from Tarett, with the MCS coilovers. The ability to make adjustment from the top will be easy in the front, but the back looks to be a bit problematic. I saw someone else post here that they can be adjusted by reaching in front the passenger side, but since I still have an instructor seat in the car, that seems close to impossible.
So finally, here's my question: The SPB rules say "minor trimming of rain gutter sheet metal in the rear trunk above the shock adjuster to improve access is allowed." How much is MINOR? Does that mean I can cut hole in the trunk, so I can make the adjustment from inside the trunk? Or does it mean you can only remove metal only to improve access from inside the driver compartment? Adjusting from inside the trunk would be much better. And I'm assume (hope) this is the aim of the rule, but I hesitant to cut metal with out knowing for sure.
Any advise would be appreciated, Thanks
Not my car, but did exactly the same thing: Are you running MCS or PSS9s? If you're running PSS, this wouldn't apply as IIRC the adjustments are at the bottom of the shock.
