Default 1999 donor? motor?

a good friend is looking to build up a spb this winter . he's looking at a couple of donors. he asked me about motors and how to qualify them. so the question is...whats an acceptable leakdown/compression result per cyl for the 1999s? and whats the target range in terms of horsepower?
if i recall, i think the white car i had a few years ago was like 195, 196hp? is that considered good, bad, or ??
thx in advance. hoping he has that car out for lime rock.

You can't compare HP numbers from dyno to dyno.

Best bet is a low mile engine (50-60k or less) that's healthy. We buy a lot of donor cars just for engines and transmissions.
