Default Spare SPB Transmissions

SOLD!!!

Thanks to a good friend in the ATL, I now have TWO excellent low-mileage stock Boxster G86 transmissions (1997 and 1999). I don't need them both. I'm located in Florida.

A friend of mine is looking for a good transmission. He also is in Florida.

frankgarciausa@yahoo.com

His transmission wouldn't shift into 4th during the enduro at Road Atlanta after the long red flag. Toward the very end it free'd up and started shifting again which I thought was strange but I think its time for a "new" one.

Thanks Mike. happy it worked out.

On the topic of these transmissions, are any parts available? Right now they seem cheap enough that it isn't worth rebuilding but as the supply dries up it might be worth looking into.

I hear there is a NEW NEW one on the west coast thats for sale for $3500. You can get a used one from a salvage yard with 115K miles for $500.

Im not sure what the VW gear ratios are, does anyone have that and the part number specific to the VW box?

I think you should expect to pay around $800 for a tranny with 50K miles. There are higher and lower, but that's the sweet spot.
