GT4 asking prices getting outta hand.
Porsche Houston just posted, with a straight face, 42k+ over sticker for a GT4 with over 5k miles. Check it out 42k+ over sticker used gt4
Is this peak delusion or the new normal?

Its the 6MT tax. Desirable, late model sports cars with manual transmissions have been transacting for silly prices recently and they're just riding that wave. This is made worse by the 718 being discontinued as a whole with its gas powered future now in question.
So I have a highly spec'd 2020 Spyder.....MT, Burmester, PCCB, 18-way....etc......MSRP was $133k in 2020. On the Porsche Finder, it looks like used Spyders are pretty much going for about $20k over original MSRP. From what is listed, there are only 6 Spyders nationwide at Porsche dealers. None have PCCB or Burmester. Wondering what I could get for mine???

Sure it's $42k over MSRP, but at least it has the highly desired leather dash instead of the much reviled "plastic" dash.
But on a serious note, in my opinion, the regular manual GT4s will always be the more sought after 718 GT4s - especially because the ultimate 718, the GT4RS, was never available with the manual. And the regular GT4 remains an incredible value buy compared to all other contemporary Porsche sports cars.

That's too cheap. I wouldn't sell mine for $250k.
And I'm serious. Being Spyderless, $250k in my pocket would do me no good because there is nothing else sold (for any price) that I'd rather have.
The Spyder is automobile pinnacle.

I hear you, and there is some merit to this question... However the standard GT4 has a hard ceiling just above it in the GT4RS - which you can now buy in the $170s. It makes absolutely no sense for these cars to sell within $30k of each other.
You could well argue that the standard GT4 is not underpriced - and I'd probably go along with you there. However the flip side of that is that the GT4RS is probably undervalued by the market and eventually this will reverse. When these cars are only $30k apart, I can't think of much of a reason to buy the GT4 apart from the 6MT.

I have actually owned two 718 GT4s and my first one had sofas b/c at the time I had an SPB race car so didn't use the GT4 on track. Sofas were perfect for street use which is what I wanted the car for at the time. Second (current) car has LWBs as I use it for track days and instructing. My point is that generally cars with LWBs seem to command a higher price, from what I have observed about $5K more-ish. I found it ironic the $156K car didn't even have LWBs despite the high price. So in theory with LWBs it could be $162K ish I guess.
As of the owner of a SRS with 3500 miles, I can state with zero hesitation that this statement is completely insane. You can bury me in this car in 40 years as far as I'm concerned. It's as close to "peak sports car" as I'll ever get.
