Hi all, I change my super/sports car fairly frequently. I went from a 992 Carrera S cab to an Audi R8 Spyder (sounded AMAZING with titanium exhaust) to a Huracan Evo Spyder, and now I have a F8 Tributo.
When the winter warms up I am weighing many options such as:
1. Get back into a Huracan Evo Spyder, as I loved the NA V10 and open top driving
2. Get a 296 GTB or GTS just because they are such incredible cars and you can get them at such good prices right now, with warranty
3. Try a McLaren 750s—love the lightweight and carbon tub
4. Keep the F8, which is a blast to drive and still has another year and a half of CPO warranty
or…..
5. Buy a lightly used, CPO’s 992.1 GT3
I dont track my cars, I usually take them out for weekend backroad fun. I like cars that feel special, I value sound and sense of occasion over max 0-60 times, I just want something that puts a big smile on my face.
I’ve also never driven a GT3 but I have a feeling that I would love the 4.0 that revs to 9k.
Can anybody give me some feedback or anything at all that would help sway me either way?
I have to admit, a part of what makes me gravitate toward Porsche is value retention, as if I own and drive this car for a year I want to see less depreciation, as eventually I want to trade up to a V12 Lamborghini as the ultimate halo keeper car for my garage

I really enjoy manual transmission cars, so for that reason, GT3 is a great choice.
I've driven a 296 and really enjoyed it. Haven't driven Huracan, but a couple R8 V10+. Great car, but feels very refined, almost too refined.
I know McLaren maintenance may not be as bad as people say but the service difficulties would keep me away vs the others options.
So I would either keep your F8 or move into the GT3. Best move since you already know you want a V12 Lambo is to keep your F8. F8 is a solid place to keep your money.

You are in the enviable position on having the best of the lot. If you like 296 design better or want a car that is faster get 296. Same goes for 750. If you get a gt3 it’ll feel slower. Same with huracan. Huracan sounds great and to my eye is a thing of beauty. F8 is an incredible car but not good on the track for more than a couple of laps unless you do a major brake update. Sometime the grass just seems greener.
I have not reached the break in period so I haven’t experienced the 9K RPM’s yet can’t wait until spring.

changing things around is great . I do that frequently
I will say try either the GT3 or a 296
IMO 296 is a better value than GT3 at this time
you will be getting the 296 close to bottom and GT3 close to top market
so I am not convinced about the depreciation expectations for GT3
to me the moment you buy these cars , you are 20-30 k in the hole just based on difference between trade in and retail
so iI focus on experience rather than depreciation
I have a 296 at moment and have a GT3 on order so nothing wrong with trying different things

If you like open top and want PDK + 9k RPM, then the Spyder RS is the obvious choice. However, the GT3 engine won't have the torque push of those other cars you had/own. You could always rent one via Turo to see if it suits your style.
