2026 PCA UCR Drivers Education Thread
Looks like there's been a lot of positive traction for PCA UCR's Drivers Education program already for 2026!
Starting a new to keep the momentum going.
Trailing off the previous thread, a question was asked about registration for 2026 DE. I can confirm that DE registration opens at 12:00am EST on January 1, 2026 like every year.
If you are new to the program, I suggest you create a profile NOW and set a reminder to log in exactly at 12:00am, January 1, 2026 and register for as many DE weekends as possible. IDE/IDS is a VERY popular program and limited to two sessions per year and sells out FAST. Logging in at 12:30am will almost certainly put you on the waitlist.
Noobies to the program - feel free to post ANY questions you may have. There are no dumb questions!
As an update to new and existing participants, I have volunteered in an official capacity to support worker assignments for 2026!
Happy to answer any questions (unofficially) as I can!

I think it would be helpful to delete this thread and continue the other one as information on that is helpful for anyone looking at this for first time. I realize this one says 2026 and the other 2025 but more efficient to have one thread IMO.
hows the track espresso coming along?
hows the track espresso coming along?
I did!
I also signed up for Advanced Solo Lapping day for the May event. Will be interesting to see how that plays out with the PCA Club Race event. (I'm actually really excited!)
For newbies to the program who have not done the Introductory Driving Education/School - I plan to host a Teams/Zoom call to answer any questions you may have about the program and process. Keep your eyes peeled in this thread for upcoming dates!
Looking forward to seeing you all!

Re: PHEV Vehicles with PCA UCR weekends
No, they are not allowed.
My (limited) understanding is not so much any club or organizer that does not allow PHEV vehicles, but more so the CTMP's track management team made a collective decision to not allow PHEV vehicles on the track. I heard that the nearest fire station that is capable of putting out a PHEV fire is over an hour away, so my speculation is that the track management team is mitigating their risk. I could be wrong, so perhaps someone with more knowledge can chime in.

You'll see them as "Driver Education" (DE) events in the calendar.
To register, you'll need to go to the DE registration portal.
