I bought my first Porsche 928 a 1978 almost 6 years ago off of the Rennlist 928 for sale forum after having wanted a 928 for about 10 years. I invested a ton of work into that car and it has become a reliable good looking ride though very far from the near perfect versions often seen here. If interested you can see some of that on my you tube channel scoper's garage. Not long after obtaining that I got a ride in someone else's Euro 928S and have been keeping my eyes open for one ever since. I'm not a bottom of the barrel but also not on top of the barrel. My requirements were a that it be driveable, manual transmission and no sunroof. I had seen one up near Boston that was very interesting but alas was too much of a stretch for me.
Today I signed to purchase an '82 Euro 928S in Pacific Blue with blue leather interior. My dilemma is whether I can keep the '78. Right now I think I will wait until I drive the 82 to decide. If I keep the '78 then it will be a slow build. I think it's a good time to sell an early car thanks to Nate Merz and the funds would certainly accelerate the build. The other problem is Minnie, my 81 931 that is in the middle of it's revival.
Congrats on the 928! If your Legacy GT Wagon was a 05-07 and you're calling it "blah" I'm very concerned!
I drove it the same way I drove my Toyota's and BMWs and blew up a differential. I remember the dealer asking me how I drove it and he said well you can't drive these that way. So that was the end of my Subaru experience.

Interesting, had mine ( original owner) for 17 years 140k miles, loved it, people thought it was brand new. My 58k 928 looks close to new too, I guess I'm lucky, haha
Tough one Scott. The 78 is a special car. I'd keep it too, if I could. I miss mine, and it is sort of a ticket into the early body Club, reserved for guys with 78-80 sharks. Especially pascha. Still, congrats on the new grab. A euro is nothing to sneeze at either.
Coming in 3 weeks!! Road tripping a 43 year old Porsche - here we come! When I got my '78 almost 6 years ago now I made a similar trip and there was more excitement than I had hoped for but we made it in one piece. I'm hoping this one goes a bit smoother.
