Are PS4S still the Goldilocks tire?
Looking at replacing my PS4S in a few months and not a fan of the P-Zeros. Been very pleased with the Michelins but curious if there is anything else I could be investigating.

Honorable mention are the Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02, which are a few hairs less adorned with accolades but almost the same thing. Might ride better. Phenomenal tire also.

Just put the PS4S on my 981 GTS in the spring, and the Conti's on our 958 CTT last year.
I had the PS4S for the 958 also but wanted to try the Conti's because of the longer thread life.
Back to the PS4S on the GTS - prefer them over the PS2 on our 4RS better working range for sure.
For street use excellent

I drive mostly on backroads and highway in NH and VT and I have been thinking of getting the Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 once my P zeros are worn out. Not an overly aggressive driver and it gets cold here in the spring and fall.

Recommend you go with Conti DWS over the MPS4 A/S. Those Michelins ride pretty hard. And they’re noisy.

Oh, OK! I read plenty of good reviews by Cayman and Boxster owners on Tire Rack including a glowing review by a GT4 owner from TN who said he is here on Rennlist. Contis are rated about the same by similar owners and are cheaper. Good to have two choices. Thanks.

I had the Conti DWS on my other Boxster and they were fantastic for Pacific Northwest winter. A really solid all season that you can still have some fun with

I usually opt for Michelin PS4s on my newer cars as well. However, I have been running Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02s on a couple of my older cars since Michelin PS4s doesn't come in smaller sizes. I think the Conti ECS02s are as good as PS4S in terms of dry grip. Wet grip the contis seems slightly better and great ride quality for the amount of grip they provide. Not to mention the Conti ECS02s are cheaper than the PS4s. PS4s has a slight edge in terms of steering feel.
