991.2 PCM 4.0 USB not recognizing iPhone for CarPlay
Hi all, for some reason my PCM is not recognizing my iPhone when I plug it into the USB in the center console. I have tried to reset the PCM and it still won't recognize it. Anyone experience this? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

iPhone 16
I have a 16 and it pairs fine. I also use a thingy thing (technical term) for wireless.
Also, the 16 is USB C. The Porsche is USB A. How are you translating? My experience has been with the cable. Get a new one Apple and not 3rd party. Or go wireless(better as it is iPhone agnostic and can handle multiple phones serially.)

The same thing used to happen to me w/ the PCM 4.0 in my previous Cayman S. About 50% of the time, the OEM CarPlay system would not connect when I plugged it in and started the car. The only way I could reliably connect was to wait until the car was running to plug it in.
Ironically, the Mr12Volt wireless CarPlay module that I added to the PCM 3.1 in my '14 TTS works 100% of the time as long as the phone is within range of the car. It boots up as soon as I put the key in the ignition and before even turning the key. It even works with my phone is in the house, and the car in the attached garage. If I shut the car down with CarPlay selected, it's there immediately the next time I put the key in the ignition.
PCM 3.1 w/ Mr12Volt added is far superior to the PCM 4.0 system was, at least in my experience. Moreover, addition of Mr12Volt retained all the OEM PCM 3.1 functions.
