Looking at non-WP MY 23 4RS the center console trim is leather like dash, but on my 24 it is Race Tex. Is this an official change or a potential mistake/parts shortage? TBH i like that it is RT and not leather, more cohesive to match below dash RT/glovebox etc.

 

I thought they all came with racetex as standard, unless you specfied otherwise... at least this was the case with Gt4/Spyder I believe.

There was another member that had a car delivered recently like that. Not sure if official change but atleast 2 cars.

 

Edit: my mistake, I thought you meant the *****/shifter boot were leather, but you meant the side parts of the centre console.

 

Not ****, the center console side trim.

 

There are quite a few trim packages that will impact whether these parts are racetex or leather or something else. Do you have the build sheets for the cars that are leather?

 

For the cars with leather console side trim panels… is the upper dash also leather? If not, I imagine it looks quite off where these two pieces meet.

 

it’s not an official change. Has just happened in a couple of cases. I’ve a case where a non-wp got full race-tex dash - that would have been nice!

Its a shame that Porsche bundles that into WP.
I did ask about getting it under CXX but then I don't know when i would have gotten the car.

 

I don't. Be curious to see if it's all MY24 or not. Couldn't find any MY23 with RT all I saw were leather.

 

I have leather dash, and RT for every trim piece below the dash. TBH I like how everything below the dash is now RT, more cohesive IMO.

The configurator when option extensive items in leather still seems to describe it as leather in the lower centre console sections?

@Airbag997 It's a mistake. Are your A pillars race tex or did they mess that up too? Seems they sometimes grab the part they feel like in Osnabrueck?!

 

Ahh, good catch. I still really like the RT mistake for the center console. It ties in better IMO. The A pillars, roof lining, and sun visors are all RT as well.
