Default Cracked paint under PPF?

Came out to this lovely mark on my my car. Does it look like the paint is cracked under the stealth PPF?

No clue but it won't wipe off. It's like it either got dinged so hard it cracked the paint or someone hit it with a butane lighter.

Were you tracking recently? Looks like brake fluid or another chemical damaging the ppf

Is it a door ding and we are just looking at crumpled up PPF? Did the PPF take the damage and it just looks like it got to the paint?

Also additional details such as when the film was originally installed? That is super strange. PPF is more porous than paint, so it does tend to absorb things and can stain. But that is a strange mark. Try and hold a light at different angles to try and tell if it’s in the PPF or the actual paint below.

Probably best to ask your installer about that. They can probably remove and replace it.

Looks like damaged PPF. I suspect that the paint is fine underneath. Have your detailer remove and replace that section.

I'll take it in tomorrow and report back. Just hoping its not the paint.

I'm definitely not a PPF expert, but is it possible that it's water (or air bubble) and it will go away at some point?

Doubtful, its not new PPF. Over a year old.

If the PPF is indeed "over a year old" most likely what you are seeing is damaged PPF, as others have said.

What does the PPF feel like to the touch? Is it smooth? Or bumpy?

Took it to a local place and they cut the damaged portion out. There wasn't paint damage but they will have to replace the whole door PPF. They think someone just dinged the **** out of the door and luckily the PPF saved the paint. Last Thursday my car also got rear ended while parked and the PPF save the paint there as well but the lower black portion of the bumper will have to be replaced. I always thought PPF was a bit overkill but after saving me twice in one week, I'll get it on future cars.
