Default Just ordered parts for a complete brake job....

So I've been getting some shimmy when braking from high speeds. I wanted to go ahead a replace everything.

I ordered this kit which contains 4 Brembo rotors, Brembo Ceramic pad sets and new wear sensors. This seems like a good deal - did I overlook something?

It's generally recommended to replace the rotor set screws and perhaps the caliper bolts and retainer clips for good measure, but lots of folks re-use those. I haven't done brakes on my 997 yet (but won't be long), so don't know whether other hardware like shims necessarily need to be replaced. I'm also interested what the Wiser Minds say...

Yeah, I plan on leaving it on the stands for the week and driving the S2000. Everything will get cleaned and properly set up.

Make sure you use the proper Brake Sensors or you can get brake squeal

2009 C2S 202K miles

Porsche denotes that the caliper bolts are single use... new ones every time you remove calipers. Your call on that one.

Rotor set screws: Usually you destroy them and have to drill them out... at least I did. They are stuck and soft. It is really no big deal to drill them out. Put some antisieze on the new ones and you won't have that problem again. Two screws per rotor. The proper way to remove the these screws currently on your car is with one of these:
Amazon Amazon
Get a cheap one... no need for this to be a quality tool.

Peace

I did the brakes on my 997.1 C2S last year using the kit from FCP Euro

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/por...mann-997brkt21

I’d make sure you get new calliper bolts, the hardware kit, and the shims as you can’t reuse the old ones as they get brittle. Super easy job and there is a really good diy video on the FCP euro site as well.

Good luck!
