Anyone oredering 992.2 in Shade Green Metallic? First available on Dakar and 911 ST.

 

Also now available on the Taycan which you can likely find at your local dealer if you want to see it in person. I really want to like it but every time I've seen it live, it's a hard pass for me. Plus there's too many Bronco Sports and Hyundai Tuscons and Chevy Trax wearing the same color

 

I saw it on a Dakar running at the Porsche Experience Center in LA this week and it was droolworthy! Really eye-catching on a 911 and quite rare. Stood out even amongst 25 other 911s.

Are you getting a PTS allocation? If so, base or GTS? And how'd you get it? and what's the estimated time on PTS orders? So many questions!

 

I have a base coupe with aero kit that locks any day. I am going with Shade Green. It's an upcharge of about $3K at the top of the standard paint options.

 

Ordered my 992.2 base with shade green but have never seen it in person. Rolled the dice but won't lie -- I am terrified. It looks different in every picture and video I see.

 

Shade Green is going to look nice modified.

 

Only picture I got of the shade green Dakar last week at PECLA, but it is stunning in person!
I know how you feel though- I ordered my 992.2 in Lugano blue and have never seen it in person. That shark blue 992.1 in the shot was close enough to get me excited though!
edit: I found two more! This car was so good looking I snapped (mediocre) pics of it on the move. The shade green plus black was literally a head-turner!

 

I suspect shade green will stay rare and will be desired. You will like it (and I’ve only seen it in pictures). So rest easy with that decision!

Was nervous it was going to be too flat for my tastes and not very metallic. Also worried because in some pics it looks grey/blue but in the sun it looks more like what I'm hoping for.

 

Modified how?

 

In other words, lowered with nice wheels, etc. etc. It’s a color that will mod well.

 

My Dakar is in Shade Green Metallic and I've never regretted my choice. The metallic element is very subtle but I think the colour suits the 911 silhouette very well.

However, I am peeved that Shade Green is now more widely available. When I purchased the Dakar last year, I was told that Shade Green was a colour unique to the model. It undoubtedly was unique at that time but clearly Porsche has changed its mind.........!

 

If you want to see more pics go to finder.porsche.com and filter Taycans to 2025+ and green and you'll see a ton.

If you want metallic, shade green won't be for you. It's very flat. It's almost like chalk but with a teal tint.

Lugano blue btw is also very flat and doesn't look metallic. In both instances, lugano blue and shade green would look much better if they had metallic flake.

 

Took delivery in December of a Cab 4S in aventurine green, truffle seats and brown top. Had shade green been available might have went with that and as light an interior as I could order -- perhaps chalk. I think it is a great color.

 

I ordered the shade green. If you check your local dealers, they may have a shade green taycan in stock and you can drive over and check it out. I saw it out the other day.......really nice...it is a more flat color.I am excited!
