Default Anybody Using Grundy Insurance?

What has been your experience and do you recommend? They are offering me a significantly better price than Travelers and 1 year prepay, so no 6 month increase like most do, even w/ no claims. TIA

I just switched to Grundy. They allowed my requested values. Hagerty did not. They were also cheaper. I never put a claim through with them though. That's the ultimate test... I'm interested in knowing as well.

I believe I will likely go with Grundy as well. Had to sign a document stating I would not use for towing, hauling camping or off road. It also stated I could not use the car for 'rally gymkana', which I had to look up and is defined as: timed and/or speed events in an automobile. Does that mean that policy would not cover a track accident such as at a PCA sponsored event at Sebring? That would be a possible problem. Of course it could get towed home before reporting....

Just for the fun of it, I filled out the quick application for Grundy insurance. It’s about three times what I pay with my current carrier and similar coverage. I am currently covered under NJM.

NJM is strictly New Jersey applicants, yes?

Actually not comfortable with Grundy insurance at this point. They wanted me to sign a document that states "Vehicle cannot be used for errands, back-up, primary or secondary transportation." It appears to me that they are setting things up so they can easily deny a claim. Yelp reviews were also pretty bad with multiple denied claims, etc. I will go with Porsche insurance, did not receive the same ridiculous opt out clauses and price was only a couple hundred more than Grundy.

If you live in one of the states where Porsche Auto Insurance writes, I strongly suggest you contact them and get competing quotes. I have had them for 1/2 a year now and they are competitive on rates and will write agreed upon value policies for not just Porsches but for other cars as well (which they will also cover).

they write in a few other states, including Pennsylvania. I’m sure a search on the web Will answer that question. You didn’t post where you live.

Hagerty lets you use for whatever...way happier with them and they write checks when an issue occurs presuming you're factual and honest with what's happened.

Yea no worries, appears they don't write here in Florida. Will get Porsche insurance, appears Grundy has built in excuses not to pay a claim if it ever came up and Yelp reviews support that.

Yea I have heard they are good. Have never filed a claim but Hagerty was double $ for my VIN over Porsche Insurance.

Friend switched to Grundy. No complaints, but also hasn't made a claim and you really don't know if they're good or not until a claim is made. However, my main concern with them is what you stated above, no errands. When I take my car out, I don't typically run errands, but it sounds annoying to not be able to stop at Home Depot for something simple on a Saturday morning. They will allow you to grab lunch/dinner though which is strange to me. Too many technicalities when driving these cars is supposed to be fun.

Agreed. My experience with Hagerty has been great regarding the sign up process. Customer service agents have been excellent and friendly. They sound like car people when you call. Hagerty Drivers Club is also nice peace of mind although if I was close to home I'd use the flat bed guy that has more experience with speciality cars.

In Texas.
I have Grundy on 2 dodge vipers, at 100K each, agreed upon value, no restrictions on when or where I drive them.
Unfortunately, I had an accident, totaled one, they paid it off.
I still have my other Viper with them, and they were less expensive than Hagerty.
