Has anyone retrofitted the umbrella holder from 991.1 to 991.2?

Dealer sent me this:




But dealer said he is not sure it will fit 991.2?

Can anyone confirm?

Yes on the passenger door sill 991.1 have an umbrella holder

it was deleted on the 991.2 😢

I kept the umbrella from my 987 but unfortunately it does not fit my 991.1. is there an umbrella that does fit the 991.1?

This feature is not in all 991.1 models. I have a 2016 991.1 GTS and there is no umbrella holder. It's too bad there isn't, as it is a perfect utilization of that space.

So no one has fitted this?

I can’t give you a definitive answer on a 991.2 but I retrofitted the sill from an earlier 2013 Boxster on my 2014 981 Cayman to gain the umbrella holder. I think the 981 sills are the same as the 991.1 sill and probably the same as the 991.2 sill??? I purchased the earlier sill with the umbrella pocket and after removing and comparing it to my existing sill I determined I needed to modify and enlarge the length of the opening in the plastic piece that the umbrella sill snaps into. I used a vibrating universal tool to increase the opening and then the new sill snapped into place. Porsche make 2 different mini umbrellas but the newer one (shown above with the silver handle is smaller and a better fit).
