Default Windshield - LARGER Outer Seal Part Number?

Does anyone know what the part number for the LARGER outer seal for the front windshield is? I found reference to the larger outer seal here: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...l#post14929474. This LARGER seal would be really helpful to use in case a replacement windshield was not centered properly.

@gt3'er below:

So I looked into the PET below and it lists two part numbers for the outer seal:
993-541-225-01
993-541-925-00

However, when I plug those two part numbers in for ordering, the system says that 925-00 replaces 225-01. In essence, only 925-00 is available for ordering. My PET, however, is really really really old. Like, over 20 years old. So maybe there is some newer part number my old PET is unaware of for this larger seal?

See below where using the 225-01 part number redirects folks to 925-00:

Note that I have 993-541-925-00 on hand. I measured it, and it does not look any larger that my existing 28 year old seal on the car. In fact, it looks SMALLER than my OE seal, but this may because my original seal is aged and has flattened over time with heat / tension / etc:

There is only one seal 993 541 925 00, the other number went about 20 years ago

Thanks. Was there some kind of manufacturing run of 993-541-925-00 which was thinner than normal? I see Rennlist threads talking about these seals made before vs after 2014. Note that @gt3'er 's post was in 2018.

FWIW - I was put on to the URO version of the 993-541-925-00 seal by Einar's Garage in Houston. This is what I discovered when comparing the URO vs. the Porsche seal:

The interesting data point here would be the measurement from the outside edge to the "T". That's the part that would go from the channel in the windshield and bridge the gap to the body.

If that section is wider than stock, it would help cover more of the gap. The part on the other side of the T and overall width is less relevant.

Yep, the extra 1.3-1.5mm comes from the outside edge to the T, but only when smushed flat w my fingers.

@URO Support Thanks for the reply. I believe URO Parts 911 541 225 03 DOES NOT FIT the 993 - particularly the seal engagement mechanism that comes attached to the windshield. Would you let us know? Thanks.

Hi Jlaa, you are absolutely correct - sorry for the error!

Windshield seal 993 541 925 00 (which is EPDM rubber and does not have a modified outer lip) is the part number for 1995-1998.

Since I am messing with a new windshield as we speak, the dimension on the real seal Porsche 993 541 925 00 (manufacturing date 3-21-2022,made in Gemany) from the "T" to the outside edge is 0.46 inches or about 11.5 mm. This is measured flattened in a vice with jaws open wide enough to slip the T between the jaws. I also have an aftermarket seal that I took out and it measures 10mm .
The real Porsche item has the felt strip attached. The cheap aftermarket one does not. If you think an aftermarket seal made in China on Chinese extrusion tooling in PVC is the same as the one made in Germany, I got bad news for you.
