That looks great. But will it fit any non toy-size dogs?

How do you prevent the dog from being tossed around in the cage? That’s the biggest issue, there’s gotta be a way for a dog to be strapped in like a human without hurting them. Cage, bed, box are all bad options we need something safer for our furry friends

Actually, dog crates are a safe way to transport dogs because their walls prevent them from flying around. The dogs don't need to be strapped down when they can brace against the walls. It's much safer than having them free in the cabin.

There are also dog "seat belts" that connect to the seat belt connectors and latch onto the dog harness/collar/etc. These are good when not using a crate, but I believe dog crates are still safer. I found this web page that claims ASPCA recommends securing dogs in dog crates/carriers.

Thank you We offer the K9eleven in two sizes. The video showcases the medium size, suitable for dogs up to 18 lbs (8 kg). However, we also have an XL version available for larger dogs.

The XL box requires both rear seats to be folded and is designed for dogs up to 40 lbs (18 kg). While it is theoretically possible to accommodate a larger box for bigger dogs, our development of the K9eleven revealed two major issues with increasing the box size:
  1. Obstructed Visibility: A larger box blocks visibility through the rearview mirror, compromising safety.
  2. Comfort and Accessibility: A larger dog would be more difficult to get in and out of the box, leading to a less enjoyable ride for your pet.
To ensure a great experience for both dogs and their owners, we decided to limit the size of the box.

Dog cages or crates are typically designed to limit a dog's movement inside the car cabin, primarily to prevent driver obstruction and to minimize the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The K9eleven dog cage features raised internal padding as standard, providing your dog with a cozy place to rest and ensuring safety during normal driving conditions. If you wish to add extra padding or any other customizations to your K9eleven dog box, we are happy to accommodate your needs. Simply let us know your requirements, and we will ensure they are met to the highest standard.

Thank you for your question

My dog flies and rides in this in all my cars including my 911. Only cost around $100 and has held up for years!

Your dog? Your 911? The travel bag?

Adorable picture! We are bad dog pawrents and just let ours lie down on our laps or lie down on the rear seat's 'shelves' when we travel.

I wish my dog was as compliant as yours so I could use a simple carrier bag to take him along. My dog is way too energetic and gets all over the place, along with his hairs. It seems like the k9eleven would effectively solve that for me. Let's see what Santa brings home this year...

What is the weight of the small, and large box? (I’m not at all concerned with added weight for performance, but just to know how heavy it is to carry / lift / install).
I didn’t see the weight of either box listed in specs on your web site.

Would you have a picture of the XL version installed in the rear of a 911?

Very much appreciate development of these sorts of things for our pets.

Thank you for your question, we've just added the box weight specifications to the website:
  • The Single Size Aluminium K9eleven dog box weighs approximately 15 lbs (7kg) without the top or 17.5 lbs (8kg) with the top assembly.
  • The Double Size Aluminium K9eleven dog box weighs approximately 24 lbs (11kg) without the top or 28.5 lbs (13kg) with the top assembly.
Weight will vary slightly depending on the selected materials, the full carbon K9eleven dog box will be about 20% lighter.
In regards to the mounting procedure: when folded, the base of the K9eleven can be held from all sides which makes it easy to carry, lift and install in and out of the 911.
