Offered 2024 992.1 S by my local dealer! Build a manual one and take it?
I have a loaded 2023 base, offered today a last of the 2024 992.1 S to build
i can build a manual humbly optioned one depending on the trade value I can get for mine. It has 800 miles on it only!
wait for the 992.2 S ? Or get the last of the manual S ??
this is what I have now!

Most of the rumor mill is their be no manual on the S. So the question is, do you want go assure yourself of a MT that you get to spec as you want or take a chance that their could be an S or T somewhere down the road. Chances are they won’t be available for quite some time or long wait times if you can secure an allocation. You have a great car already so not like you don’t having something now that you apparently purchased as it was something that fit your needs.
I grabbed a .1 manual knowing I wanted something while I waited for the next iteration and it may just be the car I keep for many years unless some type of issue prevents me from keeping a 3 pedal.
So only something you can decide.
Congrats on the allocation.

Get the 992.1 C2S allocation now.
Drive it, if you like it, keep it.
Drive it, if you don't like it, trade it in for the 992.2. Those will be around for a while, certainly long enough for you to figure out if you like the 992.1 MT.

Yeah I would get 992.1 Carrera S with the manual, that is going to be a special car and would expect will hold it's value very well.
All signs seem to indicate that the 2026? 992.2 S will be PDK only. I am sure the 992.2 S will be better than the 992.1 S in some ways, but won't have the manual available. It sounds like a 992.2 T might be available with manual, but will be based on the base Carrera and still have less power than a 992.1 S. Also the T would likely be available as a RWD Coupe only (like the 992.1 version) and has the the features of the T, like limited interior options and removed sound insulation (booth things I would not care for).
A manual 992.1 Carrera S seems like a slam dunk at this point. Look at how desirable the 997.2 Turbos with a manual are today (the last Turbos with a manual available):

If they allow you to literally walk away from your base with little to no loss then its a no brainer....get the manual S order.

The real question here is how much of a hit you’re taking on that trade for this transaction. With only 800 miles, those may be expensive miles. You have to figure out whether or not that’s worth it to you personally.

Call me goofy - but the 992.2 hybrid enhancements look yummy. I'm not afraid of a PDK world, but I'm going to hold on to manual cars as long as possible.

If you must have a manual-bird in hand applies, if not then I would hold onto your car and for awhile.

If you actually want a MT its a no brainer. A bird in the hand...
If you're stretching your budget because you think it will be a better investment, than I'd say its still a car and you cant predict future values of cars.

I think its down to where you want to be, did you always think to yourself , man i should have gotten the C2S or the T or or or , if your not going to be satisfied in the long term with your Base, even though it has that awesome Sport Design bumper, you get a do-over..
it is likely that there will not be a better time for you to get into an S with a manual which should not depreciate very much at all.
then of course how much do they need to make a deal, and what will they offer you for your base. then its down to numbers...
Dude a manual C2s with an Aerokit and a manual whats be a great car..

As someone who was facing a similar scenario in February (except I didn't already own a Base), I chose the "bird in the hand" option, and having picked up my MT C2S two weeks ago, I couldn't be happier. If there's a 992.2 w/ manual, you can always upgrade in the future (except, of course, you'll have to pay a lot more at that point.)
