Thumbs up 2014 Turbo Adventures Begin.....

Howdy Guys,

I'm excited to report that I'm officially joining the 911 club . Finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new to me 911 Turbo - after numerous years dreaming, researching, learning and viewings.

Big fan of both all Porsche and earlier Gen Subaru's and avid DIYer. Currently own a 2017 Macan Turbo / 2004 Foz 6MT XTi / 2000 GC8 2.5 RS Impreza - my wife's pride and joy

After numerous viewings over the years of 996s and 997s for whatever reason I didn't proceed with purchasing given it be - timing, competing priorities and/or finances or a combination of all the above lol.

With that in mind I never lost sight and continued my daily search (obsession) and had made my mind up that the 991.1 TT/TTS Gen was definitely the one for me.

That is probably enough rambling from me. Looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead. Please let me introduce my new pride and joy. Cheers,

Mine's a .2 TT, it does it all if you drive your car regularly. You will love it! Get an exhaust on that bad boy and that's honestly all you need to shred some tyres and drive it in earnest. I upgraded the ICs as well since I track 3-4x a year and have Texas heat, even in spring/fall months, so that'll help. I love mine, can't wait to get it back this week after the Fabspeed exhaust and mentioned ICs get installed.

@Farsider thanks for the kind words. I’m a big fan of white and black combo on a Porsche.

I like the look and it reminds me of storm trooper lol. Our Macan has the exterior colour combo as well.

@E Allen the modding will come at a later date

Firstly….. my plan is start off with a clean slate. Give my new to girl some TLC and complete the following, whilst getting to know her better):-
- oil & filter change
- frunk & cabin filter change
- brake fluid flush
- spark plugs change (maybe coil packs as well)

Also got to get some summer tires, as it only came with winters.

Cheers,

@RSBro the .2 TT/TTS would have been nice . Congrats and how long have you had it? I was looking at the pricing for these, as they do come standard with Apple CarPlay, better fueling system and larger turbo on the TTS. Unfortunately the price jump was a little bit too much than I was prepared to outlay.

Having said that I'm definitely super happy with the TT. Mine comes fitted with PDCC so.... I'm basically missing the PCCB and center locks.
During my search throughout Canada I didn't find any .1 TT being fitted with this non standard option. So... that was an added bonus for sure .

Believe I have the exhaust upgrade already covered, as the sales agent informed me that it is fitted with an Akrapovic exhaust.

What your recommendation for summer tires? Please share a link/update for your new Fabspeed exhaust change out.

Cheers,

Yeah no shame in it man! I was in the same boat, just too much extra scratch for me on a nice .2 so I found a good looking .1 that was in budget and hit all the 'haves' and none of 'dont haves'.

Historically I've preferred metallic colours but the white is very striking, especially with the dark accents... it is slightly harder to keep clean than I expected tho!

I think you did a great job in car selection... but I might be biased!

Honestly my .2 journey just kind of happened! I was at my local dealer for a recall issue, and they had this gorgeous Night Blue Metallic TT that looked flawless on the lot. I asked about it, took it home that day on trade in lol. 2 owner, dealer maintained, less than 10k miles with 3 years CPO left, was a no brainer. I had a 991.1 C2 before that I loved and was in excellent shape, it tracked well, was my daily, etc. I had an investment pay off in 2022 where I could put down a good down payment and not really be out of pocket much on my payment so it was an easy call. Got it PPF'd in the important areas, and been loving it since.
I wish I had PDCC for sure since I do track work 3-4x a year.

I would love an Akropovic, so if that already comes with it, you are in luck. They're about double the cost of my Fabspeed, so... lol. But they sound incredible. If they start making GT3s with back seats for my kids to ride in, I'm getting one and throwing that exhaust on!

I'm in SE Texas so I run Michelin PS4s all year. They handle everything, even our bad rains/hurricane weather in the spring/fall really well.
