To the best of my understanding that was only to receive money reimbursement from Porsche not for warranty extension. All diesels came with 10 years 120,000 mi from in service date and once you will convert you will go with diesel emission at Porsche dealer you will get four years 48,000 miles whichever comes first.

I just spoke to Porsche and has verified that Once conversion is done:The vehicle has an Extended Emissions Warranty that runs for 10 years or 120,000 miles from the original in-service date.

In addition, and concurrently, the Extended Emissions Warranty runs for 4 years or 48,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of modification or first dealer resale post-modification.

So, to be clear, this is an emissions system warranty, not a full vehicle warranty which your original text implies.

I had the same "warranty" on my X5 diesel and when the sensor in the DEF tank failed and the whole tank had to be swapped, the warranty would not cover the issue as they claimed the sensor was not part of the emissions equipment even though it was in the DEF tank so I was out $2500.

The link that I have provided has all components covered. Basically, anythinthing diesel touches is covered.

The emissions control system warranty covers the entire emissions control
system, including (1) all components which are replaced as part of the emissions
modification, and (2) any component which can reasonably be impacted by
effects of the emissions modification.
The emissions control system warranty shall cover the following parts
or systems:
• The entire exhaust gas after treatment system, including the Diesel
Oxidation Catalytic Convertor (“DOC”), the Selective Catalytic Reduction
(“SCR”) Catalyst, the Diesel Particulate Filter (“DPF”), the dosing injector
and other DEF system components, any exhaust flap, and all sensors and
actuators;
• The entire fuel system, including fuel pumps, high pressure common rail,
fuel injectors, and all sensors and actuators;
• The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (“EGR”) system, including EGR valve, EGR
bypass valve, EGR cooler, EGR filter, all related hoses and pipes, and all
sensors and actuators;
• The turbocharger system including all related hoses and pipes, all sensors
and actuators;
• The engine control unit (“ECU”) and the transmission control unit
(“TCU”); and
• The On-Board Diagnostic (“OBD”) system, and any malfunctions detected
by the OBD system.
Additionally, the engine long block warranty shall cover the engine sub-assembly
that consists of the assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder head, camshaft, and
valve train.

I have a "fixed" CD and can attest to the warranty. Its pretty comprehensive. Best car Ive ever owned BTW..

It can also tow up to 7,716 lb. We have a few with completed emission conversions by Porsche.

BMW doesn't have the same warranty as Porsches do and tank replacement will be covered, not to mention I haven't seen many BMW diesel cars past 130k miles but you see plenty of Cayenne Diesels with high miles. Quality of BMW's has been pretty bad, however Porsches quality is a lot better and there are a lot less issues, just my 5¢.

Check out recent CD sales on BAT. If in fact this can have 4 yr comprehensive Porsche emission warranty this CD should bring upper $40’s low $50k. I’m an original owner of a 2016 CD purchased new and first put in service May 2018 still under factory new car warranty through May of this year and emissions warranty through May 2028. The overall performance and capabilities are incomparable. Mid 30’s mpg @ 75 mph. Over 7000lb tow capacity, 800 mile range and fuel prices often near regular. All this with true 911 sports car handling as you accelerate through apexes with incredible torque. Also becoming somewhat of a cult car in PCA circles.

I'll give it a few days and will have it listed on BT. Typically it takes a while to have the car listed there. I prefer to sell it quick, but I guess it may be more beneficial to wait out and take my chances on BT.
Fyi I just sold a few CD's to California residents and have a few more in stock.
