Saying goodbye for now
I previously posted I was considering selling my 991 for a Giulia QV. Well the day has come and the 911 was picked up this morning. Bittersweet day to see that car leave after so many amazing experiences. A thank you to the various members on this board that have helped so much in the owner experience and learning more about these cars than anyone can ever expect until you dive in. Like most, I hope someone buys it well and drives it like hell. Now is time for the impatient waiting game for the Alfa to arrive. I'll be migrating over the the Giulia Forums and truly hope this has not been my last 3-pedal 911. Cheers to you all.

Have fun on your next adventure! Always fun to try something new, even if it just helps you appreciate what you've had in the past. I'd actually love an update and review on your Alfa after you've had some time with it.

Thanks. I’ll consider a write up but the cars are so different it will be tough to really compare. Maybe I can comment on owning Porsches for 5 years and seeing what Alfa offers on build quality and performance for anyone considering adding/switching.

Hope you enjoy. After 60 years of P-cars, I have absolutely no interest in moving on, but enjoy reading about everyone’s experiences as they try the dark side. Keep us posted.

My greatest days have been:
In my 20's owning a BMW 2002 and a Porsche 914
In my 40's owning a E46 M3 and a 996 911
Now in my 60's owning a GT3, GTS, and an Alfa Quad
Lots of other cars sprinkled in there from AMG to M cars and Ferraris. My #1 has been the Giulia QV and five years after buying it I still laugh out loud about it. Like Jason Camissa says you can only understand the Alfa until you've spent a great amount of time with one.
As soon as you receive it I might suggest putting Expel on the entire front nose and hood, and the entire rear bumper. I put it on the carbon fiber front spoiler and it saved me grief when I hit a massive piece of something at high speed.
Congratulations. Hope you love it.

Great write up! Glad the trip was good after the rocky start. I also had issues with the snow at the same time as you but over in the french alps, we had turn back from the top of a pass as the snow was so deep. I'm in Austria and your post has given me some good reviews of places to go and hotels to stay in.
