Default Is the engine lid swappable between the .1 and .2?

Does anyone know if this will swap into a 991.1 easily?

I believe it has been done but I'm not sure so no confirmation but I really like the 991.1 "lobster tail" as I like to call it.
The bi-directional inlet/outlets have a nice contrast.

I've owned both 991.1 and 991.2 Porsches and prefer the 991.2 engine lid.

I swapped my .2 box-fan grates out for the .1 style. The main metal part of the lid is the same between .1 and .2; while the plastic joining the metal to the louvers/vents is different.

You can do it. There’s just a lot of little components to buy purchase.

YES, I did it, I changed the lid from 991.2. I just bought a new lid and put it in the regular places. Everything fit perfectly.

Just so I’m clear. You own a 991.1 TT or TTS and swapped out the top engine cover lid from a 991.2 TT or TTS and the fit was good. Correct?

I have TT. But the lids are all the same. Just take the cover from 991.1, remove and put the cover from 991.2. They fit as at the factory - there are no problems.

Agreed. There are some things about the 991.2 that I prefer over the 991.1, but the engine lid cover isn’t one of them. I think the 991.1 cover looks better. It’s a bit more sleek and “organic” in appearance.

I really like the .2 lid cover, looks great on your car. Do you know the Porsche part number?

Can this swap be done on a 991.1 C2S? I really like the look of the forward facing vent in the middle but unsure if it would fit without to much modification?

To do the swap you have to buy an entire lid, metal and plastic parts to do the clean swap. Can’t just do the top louvre area. Correct?

I will have a complete .2 engine lid with carbon fiber center louvers for sale in a few weeks if anyone is interested. Replacing with all carbon. Color is graphite blue but can be repainted.

Carbon center

I would be interested but need to figure out how to put it on a .1 C2S and NOT a turbo :P(

Agreed. The .1 lid blends better with the design. The .2 design and later calls too much attention to itself.

I think many find themselves drawn to later model designs, in order to make their cars look more "modern," but that isn't necessarily a design "upgrade."
