Default Auto headlight Retrofit?

Hi all,

Is there any way to retrofit a 997.1 to have auto headlights? The answer seems to be a no, but I just wanted to verify.

I've seen someone write up doing it with an audi headlight switch as well. Fit perfectly in the porsche spot but looked different of course with the "auto" location. It also required running a wire up to the rear view mirror and adding a sensor up there from an audi as well. Looked nice when done tho.

Installed this today. I had to come on and post due to how amazing this kit is. For the money, excellent. Had some trouble getting the wire snaked through the dash, but very simple with the instructions. I also bought a VW headlight module with the "Auto" position (otherwise identical), and replaced the bezel on the Porsche control with the VW labeled one - looks perfect. Thanks for to this thread.

I've been looking to do this too. Would you mind sharing where you bought the VW headlight module or have the part numbers for it to replace the bezel? Thanks!

I purchased this unit on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

I got impatient trying to figure out how to get the VW bezel removed over the selector handle (the Porsche doesn't have this issue), and ended up just pulling the handle out from the front - which broke the control (but not the bezel).

Hi,
I also made a auto head-light auto-on circuit
My requirements :
- plug and play
- keep all the normal functionality
- always on with engine running

I monitor the battery voltage. Light switches on above. approx. 13,4 Volt and switches off below approx. 13,1 Volt

Regards
Hans
