Default Driving my car home. Should I or Shouldn't I??

I am getting really really frustrated with my transport company and debating flying down to get my car and just drive it home. Would you drive 800+ miles from Atlanta to Philly in your brand new 18mile GT3 just to get it home? Not sure it's worth the week or two in the big picture, but holy **** I'm going crazy. I've been waiting more than 14 months since I placed the order and just want the thing home. It's probably not worth the extra miles and potential highway damage, even though the car is fully protected now.

Drive it. Isn't that why you bought it. Hit some of the mountain roads I

And what is stopping you from using another transport company?

Sure. I drove my 996 GT3 home from Chicago, about the same 800 miles, and it is a far worse highway car.

If it’s wrapped already, go for it. Life is short and it’s a great way to get to know your new toy. I buy many cars out of state and drive most of them nearly 1k miles back home. It makes for great memories and stories, which is what these cars are about. Go enjoy it and stop worrying about miles before you’ve put the first one on it!

Plan a trip via the NC mountains and avoid the I85/I95 Bataan Death March.

Why woudn't you drive it...its a car, what else is it good for? My GT3 is my daily driver...~60 miles day round trip.

I would not drive it....not because I was worried about it just because I would not want to drive that far, in anything.....

Transport companies all give WORST case scenario on time frames....it's often sooner

I would in a heartbeat. I plan on going to the smokies in 2019 and plan on driving down there from Pittsburgh.

pack a camera, your wife, partner, lover, kid and have a hoot of a time!

Transporters busy season is NOW. Snowbirds shifting their collection from North to South. A 700 mile trip is not going to "melt" your car. Your break in of 1000 miles would almost be complete.
Unless you purchased the car to bubble wrap it, I would drive.

Best driving roads in the world just north from atlanta. Hit blood mountain, hwy 60 to Morganton, tail of the dragon, cherohala Highway, then get on blue ridge parkway. Think of it like an American "European delivery" trip. Why is this even a consideration? Buy a 1-way and go drive your car!

The only thing that would stop me is snow/ice. Otherwise I'd be there tomorrow morning. Drive 400 miles tomorrow. Stay somewhere nice... have steak dinner and a scotch. Get up Saturday and drive the remainder of the trek. Spend Sunday detailing it.
Cheers,
Dave

My car comes in sometime in November in SC. I already have the snows sitting in my garage. When delivery is close will ship those to dealer and drive her back to Wisconsin. Life is short. Enjoy the drive
