Default My 997.1 C2S 4.0

hey guys,

as the title says i just wanted to share w/ you my 336 mexico blue c2s 4.0; this car started its life out as a factory 3.8. i've been a forum lurker here for quite a while (just used for the forums to diagnose a bad variocam actuator) and even was going to create a build thread however couldn't maintain it as i wanted ...

The title says .1, but isn’t that a .2?

Gen 1 indeed, look at the taillights which do not have the "missing corner" that the Gen 2's have.

Very cool. What's the story on the center console too without a PCM screen? What did you install there instead?

trying to think of where to start ... for starters the engine has been completely rebuilt and bored to a 4.0 only using the original lifters, rods, and sensors (however both variocam actuators and lift solenoids have now been replaced) ... the problematic issues (if you want to consider them such) have been address - cylindrical roller bearing ims w/ thrust control and nikasil coated cylinders

gen1 997 w/ a gen2 gt3 alcantara wheel i found and stole on ebay for $300 shipped lol

.1, tried to keep it as period correct as possible putting no .2 parts on it minus the steering wheel as i prefer the look better, need the .2 clock spring module thought for horn operation

thank you! it's literally no cats and no mufflers, just piping w/ vibrant super quiet resonators and o2 stand offs

it's a cdr24 (non-pcm hu) that i re-finished in matte black along w/ the hvac control unit ... i damaged my pcm by spraing windex directly on the screen lol ... worked out though as i think the cdr24 streamlines the interior better
