Enjoy guys....
Check out the 991.2 GT3 Manual at 6:27 onwards...
I was on the edge of PDK or Manual.
I stuck with the manual choice....

Agreed but I expect the Touring to ride like a GT3 w/o a wing. I have not driven an R but have spoken to enough people to understand that it drives very differenr than the .2 GT3
Not justifying the stupid prices but it has its place and with a plaque it is unreal what Porsche marketing continues to pull off - and we eat all of it

I agree, not the aggressive racer look but with all the GT3 DNA. Not a bad thing at all.
Who else but Porsche marketing can offer less product for the same same money and still have folks lined up waving their cheque books to pay full price... and MORE!!

I’d still pay way more for an R than a GT3, but that’s just me. IMO all the little details in the R make it the ultimate 911. The only thing I think I’d prefer, maybe, would be a Singer.

That's a pretty old video--there was a thread about it back when it came out I believe.

Your choice. I think that’s crazy. A GT3 touring and 911R are incredibly similar except the R is 20lbs lighter than a touring with LWB/CCB, and the GT3 has a better race derived 4.0 L engine, and better RWS. GT3 also has a tighter race suspension which I prefer.
If I could buy either for the same price today and sell either for the same price in 10 years, I’d pick the GT3 touring, hands down.

911R would be great if it came with a PDK.

Personal choice. Every little detail about the R, I prefer over the GT3, and when you add it all up, it's one of the few cars in the world that really speaks to me. I'd like a GT3T, but nowhere near as much as an R. An R just does it for me. Irrelevant though, because I don't see prices dropping, so I'll probably never own one.
911R prices have been dropping since the Touring model was announced. Perhaps you mean dropping to MSRP? That should never happen - $300k seems like a solid floor for the special bits and exclusivity w/the 911R badge.

Despite smiling and giggling more in the GT3, in the end the reviewer would have the R for no other reason than it's more "iconic".
To each their own.
Funny that he doesn't mention the feel of the light weight fly wheel vs. the beefier one in the 3.
