C2S 993.
#3
Hi Guys,
Currently looking for a car to own for 1.5 year with minimal depreciation hit and budget of max 100k. I plan to trade in car for next purchase.
It will be a weekend car / fun driving and I am looking into either
1. 991.1 C2S or C4S
2. 981 Boxster (Sry, can't stomach 2.5L 4 cylinder engine for a sportscar)
3. Maybe BMW M2?
What do you guys think?
If I were to get C2S, what options should I look into considering that I will own the car only for a short period of time.
1. CPO?
2. Bose?
3. Sport Chrono?
4. Leather Interior?
5. 14 way seat?
The optioning world of C2S is way too complicated.

Short of that I'd go for a 981 Boxster GTS manual. Again, that will be the best Boxster flat 6 NA ever short of the 981 Spyder, which are mostly selling for over $100K now. But maybe you could get a Spyder for right around $100K; if so, I'd go for that instead.
Don't get the 4WD or PDK. It won't hold value as well.
BMW M2 much cheaper and may depreciate a bit, but not much and as a precent of its price, less in real dollars maybe.
Hard to go wrong with any of those choices.

I'd go for a 991.1 GTS 2WD manual coupe if you can get one for just under $100K, which I think you can. Best example of 991.1 short of a GT3 or 911_50th which is same but with some collectibility due to numbered edition and nice trim bits.

What about CPO? Does it matter a lot?
Don't you think Spyder may take quite a hit once 718 spyder comes out? Heard that it will be NA as well.

Yes, these are all enthusiast cars. Enthusiast cars are more likely to hold value. Enthusiasts of these specific cars are more likely to want 2WD manual. Also, insofar as 991.1 is concerned, get coupe, not convertible. Only convertible to get in your list is Boxster/Spyder.
Get it if you can, ideally, but I wouldn't hold my nose at any of these cars without CPO especially if they are low miles and still under manufacturer's original 4yr warranty. You might only find the perfect car for sale from a private owner or a non-Porsche dealer who can't CPO it. I wouldn't bother with any 3rd party warranties, either.
No. Haven't heard any certainty around what 718 Spyder (or GT4 for that matter) will actually be. If 718 Spyder happens and it's a flat 6 NA, and if it's not priced a lot higher than the 981 was, then yes, 981 Spyder could take a hit. But I have a feeling the 718 Spyder might be a turbo and/or might be priced higher. Also, not everyone is a fan of the styling (esp. rear end) of the 718 Boxster and Cayman, so there'll still probably be a good market for the 981 Spyder.
If 718 Spyder and/or GT4 are turbos, then values will spike for the 981 Spyder and original GT4 as the last ever of their breed.

Sport Chrono - YES. On 911's below GT3, Sport Chrono actually matters because it adds the Sport Plus mode and dynamic engine mounts.
Leather interior - YES. Plastic dash looks/feels cheap on any 911 other than a track-only car.
14-way seat: actually, hate them. The 2-way/4-way Sport Plus seat is better looking and more comfortable than the 14-ways because of better bolsters and wings. The 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats, which look same as 2-way/4-way Sport seats, are best since they have more adjustments and most buyers on resale of a regular 911 (not GT3) would prefer that.
