I have had lots of virtual "tire kickers" from rennlist, but no one solid yet!

Here is your chance to own one of the best examples of one the most iconic cars ever made. Two bugs JUST sold for 100k and 75k in the last week here in LA so here is your chance to own one of similar caliber for pocket change.

Beautiful car! I owned a '67 and '69 in exact same color.

Just to confirm -- your ad says Original Owner, but you hold title and are not actually the original owner, is that correct?

Thanks.

Sweet VeeDub! My first car was a well loved, 'salvaged' and resurrected '67 VW Beetle in the exact some colors as this one (though the seats were white vinyl). It sure was a blast to drive, though the transmission was sure temperamental! Here here is a pic of mine for comparison:

'67 is without a doubt the best year of the classic VW bug. Factory 12v system with classic, lighter weight body style. GLWS! If you see a twin driving around the southern San Diego area, that might be my old bug!

By replacing tires then its technically no longer original using that logic - ridiculous. Original enough - GLWTS!

Really? Equating tires with paint isn't even close. Wake up people, if its been repaint then its not original. Still a nice car, but not all original and shouldn't be presented as such.

unless you're a serious buyer get a life and let the man sell his car without your petty and unproductive comments.

I am a serious buyer, for the car listed in the headline. Sorry you were offended.

Yes I essentially purchased it from the family of the original owner (Harold the rocket scientist passed away in 1992).

Default Great, well keep 1967 Beetle ....

Excellent V'dub Beetle ! Wasn't '67 the initial year for 12 volt system's or was it 1966? Nice condition with documents to back it up, however the non-factory exterior paint finish misses the all original mark. "Original" is a distinction left for the factory production paint work. The 10 year old re-spray from the way you've describe,, is a much higher quality finish than what 1967 VAG production methods could ever have been ....

I'd sell this point over attempting to spiritually "channel" the term original.

Good luck selling..

PS. Big vintage V'dub & 914 VW/Porsche fan's here. Wife has an uber original, minty-mint condition '79 Beetle convertible. (look to Coker Tire for Super Beetle period 1970's Michelin XzX radials if interested) Myself, i've owned several mid '70's Super Beetle's and last but not least the "first car" was a white 1965 sunroof Beetle ... what winter memories.... A classic, the neighbor's 7 year old hand-me-down first car for me. Paid $150 bucks and the old V'dub, needed nothing.

The car having a high quality respray 10 years ago takes nothing away from it.

If you want an "all original" never touched car plan on spending closer to 75k which is what this just sold for

67 was the first year with the "big" 1500 motor and 12 volt and the last year that retained all the charms of the vintage bugs (metal dash/slim bumpers-etc). 67's are the only old ones that you can drive in modern traffic today easily and that's why we have legions of 67 only fans now.

Most VW diehards consider it the "best" year if you intend to drive the bug to more then just car shows once a month.

Lots of interest and virtual tire kickers so far.

I am bumping the ad before it goes on consignment at the end of this week. Once on consignment I will not be as flexible on price.

So if you have serious interest in the car please get in touch with me soon! I am open to solid reasonable offers.

Have you tried listing it over on thesamba.com or vwvortex.com?
