True, and maybe it's a cultural thing.
For example, in some parts of the country, it's now fashionable to carry open firearms into businesses, churches, parks etc. That's they're thing and they love it. In other parts of the country, that behavior would never be condoned and instead be looked at with great concern and outrage.
Maybe the same thing is true here. Maybe in some parts of the country this looks like "just the market speaking", etc., whereas in other parts of the country, people would be puzzled why anyone would want to do business with someone who isn't satisfied just turning a nice profit, but out and out states that they want to gouge you in a business transaction.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Good luck to the seller. I'd wish the buyer luck, but he needs cash instead
Take care everyone.

oh come on. i'm not a fan of overpricing, but how can you accuse a dealer of gouging when he's charging 10k over on a car that still has waiting lists 10+ deep at many dealerships? 10k is not an unreasonable premium AT ALL for this car. I do think it's unfortunate that it didn't go to the next guy on the waiting list though.

I have my GT4 coming in 6 weeks, but this isn't a terrible deal. You're talking about a GT4 on the ground, ready for immediate delivery, at a price that won't look ridiculous when people start flipping them.
Good luck - I imagine this car will be gone tomorrow.

When the next one comes on the market for $20k over some will wish they bought this car.
Would I buy a car for more than MSRP? No. But someone who wants the newest sh*t and has money will and this is their car. When the 997.1 RS's came out they were selling for $30k to $40k above sticker for a period of time. I imagine the same thing will happen with the GT4- maybe not that high as it is a lower priced car, but you get the idea.
I paid too much for my 997.1 RS a few years ago. A few months later one was listed for $20k more than I paid and people said the seller was crazy. Sold in a day. Now they sell for $30k more than that. There are buyers and criers on this forum- but only the first group matters to a seller.
GLWS- love the GT4.

true. maybe i'll buy this, tack on another $10k and park it in front of Apple or Google with a for sale sign. still probably be cheaper than what dealers around here will ask. it's a win-win-win!!!

I believe the implication from goin2drt is that you are doing yourself and your dealership a disservice.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that nobody cares about the big picture any more; in this case not the dealer and not the line of people out the door lining up to throw their money away.
As another poster in another forum suggested, it's like buying at MSRP and throwing the other $10K into a fire. Would anyone rationally do that? No, but for some reason giving it to the dealer is OK.

The upside is maybe you add a CPO warranty.
I gotcha- since you pay.

i dont like to pay more than i have to.
but that doesn't me alwasy msrp or less than msrp.
in fact today i bought a car at 100% premium, no i am very SERIOUS.
a seller can ask what he wants
a buyer can pay what he desires
until there's meeting of mind, no transaction will occur. so no problem
btw, my RS4.0 is for sale at $1.5MM. it's very good car.
but what i have issues with is... seller tells me it's X
then when i show up with X, they then tell me it's now X+Y
YMMV. if you dont like the price, you dont have to buy.
i didn't buy it.

Why not just order to your spec? GTS shouldn't be anywhere near as difficult to get as a GT4.
