Offered here is arguably one of the best Porsche Speedster replicas on the market. It was constructed/new in 2015 but is titled in Florida as a 1958 Intermeccanica. This brilliant Ruby Red example with tan interior, soft top and boot was constructed in 2015 and currently has less than 1,600 original miles showing on the odometer. The car is powered by 2.5-liter Subaru Forester turbocharged engine producing 239HP. Power is transferred thru a 4-speed VW IRS ’68-’79 high performance transaxle with a 3:44:1 final drive. Both motor and transaxle were completely rebuilt during Intermeccanica’s build process. The car has 4-wheel disc brakes with Porsche 914 calipers in the front and EMPI’ s in the rear, with Repco pads and Zimmerman rotors. Wheels are 5.5”x15 in the front and 7”x15” in the rear. The car rides on 185/65-15 and 205/60-15 Yokohama AVID ENVigor tires. The car is equipped with power door windows, 6-speaker Radio/CD with Bluetooth capabilities, Vintage HVAC system and keyless entry. The car is quite fast, handles good, brakes good and is a pure pleasure to drive. And, as a welcome bonus to those living in hot climates, the air conditioning is very effective, even here in Florida. Unlike most other Speedster replicas, Intermeccanica builds their examples on their own tubular chassis as opposed to a VW Bug pan. While this example has many more modern performance, safety and comfort features, the car still has all the look of a real Porsche Speedster. It’s regularly mistaken for the real deal. The original build value was $89,740 as documented by Intermeccanica
