Best of luck with the sale the color combo is stunning.

FWIW a friend of mine contacted the OP to make a serious local offer in the mid 80's and said the OP was snide/ rude and said he had an offer of $90k that he already refused. Many times the reason a car is not selling has nothing to do with the car and everything to do with the seller.

There are 3 sides to every story! Shouldn't your "Friend" be the one to post his side vs. your assumption of their conversation?

I'm sure the seller has his own version of that conversation. So the "FWIW", without hearing from your "friend", means it's Not worth much. IMHO.
Seeing as how you just wished the guy "luck" on his sale, prior to posting a 3rd hand bash of the seller.

Yup, the seller is welcome to deny any offer and claim he has a higher offer - its his car.

I am welcome to post my .02 as much as you are yours. My "friend" does not have a rennlist account.

+1, something is off with that story. The car is listed here for $88k so why would he have declined an offer for $90k?

That's easy. We do not know where else this car is listed, the 88k price could be a price only for Rennlist. So if someone is making an offer as he said in the " mid 80's" and he has it for sale elsewhere in the low 90's the standard sales line to a low-ball offer is I have XXXX already to see or gauge if the buyer will match it.

Ultimately this car started at 109k here and its at 88.5. There is no telling where it is elsewhere so you're bound to have these kind of issues.

If the $90k offer was made when it was listed here for $88k, it would be completely senseless to decline it. The more logical scenario if the story is true would be that the $90k offer was made when it was listed for $109k, so OP felt it was too low at the time and declined. In any case, it’s all conjecture at this point until hearing both sides of the story.

Offer or not. Here or not. Doesn't really matter.

My post was mainly about someone telling the OP " Good luck with sale" and then kind of insulting him based on what someone else told him.

Just didn't seem constructive or helpful to the OP.

I have to agree. I have made my points in this thread about how I would have presented the car and pricing but I truly want the seller to get every dollar he can for the 911. He seems pleasant enough on the board it would be hard to imagine him being anything but cordial on an inquiry to purchase.

+1. This makes sense instead of OP being rude since that would alienate potential buyers. As other sellers have stated, it's challenging to discern real buyers vs. tire kickers.

Have you tried calling or emailing him directly? It's listed in the OP's original post.

Hey!
What did I miss!??!!!

Lol, Ive had many lowball offers, none in the 90k range and I've had the same stance on the car, pretty open to hearing what anyone has to say but have politely declined anything below the number I have up, which is truly my bottom number. I can't recall being short, rude etc... I am on vacation in the Bahamas so any of my perceived rudeness is sure to be washed away by the time I am back Will try and answer all PM's while wife gets ready and back up North This coming Friday!
