I have a 2007 997 with low compression in #6. Hoping to repair rather than replace, but you might end up being a last resort for me. Regardless, good luck with the sale. Engine looks pretty minty.

If you have trouble in #6, you should boroscope #3 too before deciding what to do.

I bought the car like this. It has about 70k on it and I assume it has been driven year-round. At this point, the engine is out and the heads are off. Cylinders look good, but according to the leakdown test #6 is leaking past the rings. The car drove great down the road but skipped at idle. Hopping that some pistons and rings will save the day.
Splitting the case should be interesting.
I'd love to buy this engine, pop it in, and be done, but it's a bit of budget...which is not to say that it is priced unfairly at all.
